Can Smart Charger PD 20W power my MacBook?Updated a year ago
No. For laptop charging, we recommend our Smart Hub PD 45W. Smart Hub PD 45W will push up to 30W of power to your MacBook. Please note, the maximum input wattage depends on your MacBook model, therefore, performance will change depending on the max input wattage for your MacBook.
A MacBook Air with USB-C (first introduced in 2019), for example, has a max wattage of 30W, so Smart Hub PD 45W will work perfectly as a smaller, more lightweight replacement for your wall charger. A power-hungry laptop such as MacBook Pro 16” (first introduced in 2019), for example, has a max wattage of 96W. This means Smart Hub PD 45W should be enough power to charge your MacBook Pro 16" overnight, or to minimize battery drain while in use, but we do not recommend using Smart Hub PD 45W as the one and only power source for your high-wattage laptop.
