Only iPhone 12 or later feature the magnetic alignment necessary to hold the device to the charger. If you're using a case, your case will need to have magnets built in.

Other devices without MagSafe functionality will need to be using a phone case with magnets built in or have a MagSafe ring sticker attached to the case or phone.
