Troubleshooting iPad case auto-wake and sleepUpdated 9 hours ago

If your iPad does not consistently wake when you open your case or sleep when you close it, try these checks.

Check compatibility

Confirm your exact iPad model and generation are listed as compatible with your case. iPad models can look similar but have different dimensions and button or camera positions. You can find your iPad model in Settings under General > About.

Check the case fit

  1. Remove the case and check that it is the correct model for your iPad.
  2. Refit the iPad carefully so it sits fully and evenly in the case.
  3. Make sure the cover closes flat and is not blocked or held open by anything.

Test the cover

  1. Wake or lock your iPad using the top button so you know the screen is responding normally.
  2. Close the case cover completely, wait a few seconds, then open it fully.
  3. Repeat the test a few times, checking whether the screen sleeps when closed and wakes when opened.

Isolate other accessories

Temporarily remove any other case, magnetic stand, or magnetic accessory attached to or placed near the iPad, then test the cover again. If the behavior changes, test the accessories separately to identify whether one affects the fit or operation.

Know what Auto-Lock does

Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock controls how long the iPad waits before locking after inactivity. It does not control whether the case cover is detected, so changing Auto-Lock may not fix inconsistent cover behavior.

Still having trouble?

If the case is compatible, fits correctly, and the issue continues after these checks, contact our support team. Include your iPad model, the case name, and a short video showing the cover being closed and opened. If you have more than one unit, let us know whether the issue happens with each one.
