How do I fast-charge my iPhone with a USB-C to Lightning cable?Updated a year ago

An iPhone can be fast-charged if ALL requirements below are met:

  • Your device is an iPhone 8 or later (this includes the 2020 iPhone SE or other Qi-compatible non-iPhone devices – please check our Is my device compatible with wireless charging? article if you are unsure of compatibility)
  • You are using a USB-PD charger as the power source (e.g. The one which comes with new USB-C MacBooks, or iPad Pros with a USB-C port) with a minimum of 9V/2A or more (e.g. 9V/3A, or 14.5W/2A will work as long as it mentions “PD”), such as our Smart Charger PD 20W or Smart Hub PD 45W.
  • You are using a USB-C to Lightning cable, such as our Belt Cable, Belt Cable XL, Key Cable, or Night Cable with USB-C to Lightning connector types.

Notes: QC (Qualcomm Quick Charge) will not fast-charge your iPhone. 5V chargers will not fast-charge your iPhone, even if they have a USB-C port. This applies to all Native Union chargers (including Smart and Eclipse) developed before 2019. All chargers currently for sale on our website support PD fast-charging.
